objective
Design a promotional flyer for Doxa Recovery—a 12-week gospel-centered recovery program hosted by Doxa Church in Madison, Wisconsin. The goal was to create a piece that speaks directly to those seeking hope and healing, visually communicating the redemptive power of Christ through both design and messaging. The flyer needed to feel grounded, inviting, and rooted in the church’s mission to be a safe refuge for the broken—while also providing clear logistical information about the program.
approach
To visually represent the program’s message of restoration through the Gospel, I incorporated the Japanese art of Kintsugi as a central design motif—using gold-filled cracks in the stone background to symbolize how God mends brokenness into something more beautiful than before. This texture served as a quiet yet powerful metaphor for grace, redemption, and new life in Christ. I paired it with a clean, modern layout and restrained typography to convey clarity and trust. The hexagonal icon and strong DOXA wordmark ground the flyer in brand recognition, while subtle emphasis on key details like “12 week” and “June 2nd” ensure the content is accessible at a glance. The overall design reflects a balance of strength and gentleness—speaking both to the weight of personal struggle and the hope of spiritual transformation.
